Nafisa has a special interest in surgical treatment. She has completed her Masters in Oral Surgery with Distinction from the University of Central Lancashire and PG Cert with Distinction in Implant Dentistry with Cambridge Academy of Dental Implantology.
Currently she is accepting private referrals from other dental practices in Blackpool and the surrounding area for routine and complicated extractions including closure of oroantral communications, apical surgery, removal of wisdom teeth, surgical removal of teeth and roots.
Surgical extractions involve removing one or more teeth which require sectioning the teeth and/or trimming the gum and bone followed by sutures (stitches). This may be carried out due to the tooth being impacted, curved roots or close to the sinus or nerves which can cause damage to surrounding structures and normal extraction cannot be carried out.
